player was allegedly evicted from his <a style="font-weight: bold;" href="/news/california/index.html" id="mol-4b81e600-f310-11e7-89d3-fd44cdf2fdff">California</a> rental home after his landlord said he 'trashed' the house and stopped paying rent. </p><p class="mol-para-with-font">New
York Giants linebacker Akeem Ayers, 28, is said to owe his former landlord more than $80,000 — $40,000 in damages and $43,000 in rent — on a two-story home in Calabasas, California, according
to the <a style="font-weight: bold;" class="" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" website York Post</a>. </p><p class="mol-para-with-font">Prior to renting the house to Ayers, landlord Joe Kravich, 66, told DailyMail.com
that 'It took us a year and a half to fix the house and modernize it.
[Ayers] got a brand new place, brand new furniture, everything.' </p><p class="mol-para-with-font">Kravich ticked off a laundry list of
damage that included destroyed carpets, scratched cabinets, broken furniture and a
cracked undermount sink. 'He destroyed the house,' he noted. </p><p class="mol-para-with-font">Kravich told the
NY Post that Ayers began renting the fully furnished home

felt comfortable renting to Ayers — who had won the 2015 Super Bowl while playing with the New England Patriots —
because he was an NFL player.</p><p class="mol-para-with-font">'He
came and he assured me that he was going to be there only
a few days a month, he was very busy… he assured me he wasn't going to be having
any parties,' Kravich told the NY Post, noting that when he had signed the rental agreement, Ayers had produced his Rams contract to prove that
he was going to be paid well by the team and wouldn't have
problems paying rent.</p><img src="https://p.turbosquid.com/ts-thumb/J...f5018d57c2922f024b70cb7b2e5/mutfakrender1.jpg" style="max-width:440px;float:left;padding:10px 10px 10px 0px;border:0px;"><p class="mol-para-with-font">Three days after being dropped by the Rams,
Ayers signed with the Indianapolis Colts and continued to rent the Calabasas home. At some point, Ayers' rent was lowered to $8,600
a month.</p><p class="mol-para-with-font">Ayers is said to have paid the monthly rent on time for the year
while he was with the Colts, but stopped paying when he was
dropped by the team in September 2017. </p><p class="mol-para-with-font">When Ayers was picked up by the Giants in November 2017, he reportedly didn't resume rent payments, even though his lease didn't end until February
2018. </p><p class="mol-para-with-font">Instead, Ayers left behind 'at least $40,000 in damages,' according to Kravich and his rental agent, Lois Stone.</p><div class="artSplitter mol-img-group" style="">

NY Post that they had to change the flooring and 'rip up' the bathroom.
Apparently baby wipes had been thrown into the toilet,
which resulted in mold growing in the walls. Stone also said that a marble quartz kitchen looked
as if it had been 'destroyed' by a hammer. </p><p class="mol-para-with-font">The marble
quartz cost $14,000 alone. </p><p class="mol-para-with-font">Kravich said that the backyard gazebo had also been ruined. </p><p class="mol-para-with-font">Kravich told DailyMail.com that Ayers had moved his possessions out of the house, but
'left trash all over the place, his kids' furniture and
broken things.' He added that it took two months to fix the house up before he could put it back
on the market in December. The 3,100 square foot

that prior to leaving for New York in November, Ayers had thrown a 'three-day-long rager,' that resulted
in multiple noise complaints. </p><p class="mol-para-with-font">Kravich told the NY Post that after seeing the
damage done to the house, he called Ayers, who allegedly responded by saying
that the damage was 'normal' and that 'we had some parties, so what?' </p><p class="mol-para-with-font">A spokesperson for
Ayers told the NY Post that Ayers denied all of Kravich's allegations. </p><p class="mol-para-with-font">Kravich is in the
process of filing a civil lawsuit against Ayers to recoup damages,
but said that he is having a hard time serving Ayers the papers due to
the fact that Ayers is in New York. </p><p class="mol-para-with-font">Ayers is said to owe
over $76,000 in federal and state tax debts, a Los Angeles county clerk
told the NY Post. The liens were filed in October and November 2017
and have not yet been paid. </p></div>
